Asian company Genting launches online casino

Asian operator Genting International, a parent company of Genting Stanley, one of the largest casino operators in the UK, has launched its own online casino, called Circus Casino. According to a company spokesperson, this is a strategic step for the expansion of their product range in the British market.

The new online casino will offer more than 100 casino, card and table games, including baccarat, blackjack, roulette and slots. Plus, the site will hold poker tournaments and allow customers from around the world to play for free while those in the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands will be able to play for real money.

The opening of a new casino in Moncton will mean the creation of 400 full-time equivalent jobs, including roulette and blackjack croupiers, IT professionals and food and beverage servers. This represents an opportunity local training facilities to offer their services to potential candidates.

The resort in Moncton will include a 128-room hotel plus a convention center and restaurants. The casino will offer a wide variety of table games, such as blackjack, poker and roulette, and hundreds of slot machines. Also, it is expected to feature shows with renowned artists every week.

NetPlay to launch blackjack game

NetPlay TV, one of the most important Interactive TV gaming groups in Britain, has announced the purchase of a new Sky channel through which it intends to broadcast “Live Blackjack”. In order to fund the acquisition, NetPlay TV will issue 2,375,000 new ordinary shares at 39 cents each.

“Blackjack is the most popular game in traditional casinos and as such it was a natural progression for us to launch a ‘live’ television version of this popular game,” Martin Higginson, CEO and Chairman for NetPlay TV commented. “This is another key milestone in the evolution of our business.”

Japanese player wins Tinian Blackjack tournament

An amateur Japanese player took home this weekend the $85,000 jackpot of the Blackjack Challenge hosted by the Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino. The player, who refused to reveal his name, defeated 142 contestants on his way to the maximum trophy.

The tournament was divided in 30 qualifying rounds followed by another 40 rounds that led to the final. The top four players received prizes, which ranged from $6,000 to $30,000 and were presented by Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino marketing and promotions coordinator Kiri Jackson and tournament director Tony Jackson.
