NetPlay TV, one of the most important Interactive TV gaming groups in Britain, has announced the purchase of a new Sky channel through which it intends to broadcast “Live Blackjack”. In order to fund the acquisition, NetPlay TV will issue 2,375,000 new ordinary shares at 39 cents each.
“Blackjack is the most popular game in traditional casinos and as such it was a natural progression for us to launch a ‘live’ television version of this popular game,” Martin Higginson, CEO and Chairman for NetPlay TV commented. “This is another key milestone in the evolution of our business.”
Higginson also explained that the inclusion of a dedicated channel next door to the company’s successful live roulette channel on Sky made perfect sense. “This will allow our customers to easily flick between channels depending on which game they want to play,” Higginson added.
The new live blackjack service will be launched by the end of this month on Sky Channel 848, which was bought from Hollywood TV Limited for £475,000.
