Card Player Magazine hosted, last week, the first poker awards ceremony, along with Bodog as the producer. The host of the gala were Bodog’s CEO, Calvin Ayre, one of the more notorious executives of the gambling industry, and Brad Garret, the comedian from “Everybody Loves Raymond”.
Some of the awarded were: Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Chip Reese and Daniel Negreanu.
Negreanu, who was the last year’s “Player of the Year”, went home with the “People's Choice Award> Favorite Overall Player" award. Phil Ivey won three awards: “Best No-Limit Player," “Best Heads-Up Player," and “Most Feared Player". Doyle Brunson, on the other hand, won the very coveted “Lifetime Achievement” award as a recognition for his many years on the felt.
